Each one of us has had a past marred by disappointments, regrets, pain and a case of the coulda, woulda, shouldas. For some of us they were speed bumps. For others they were life altering detours. And since life doesn’t come with control/alt/delete buttons, the circumstances we face can have life long repercussions. But they don’t have to.
If you have forgotten, or perhaps never knew, what an incredibly beautiful and special soul you are – you need a reminder. It’s time to choose to walk away from the patterns of the past that do not serve you and embrace the wonder and the beauty of the person you truly are.
You were born to share your light with the world. Our world needs your special light perhaps more now than at any other time in history. You were born with a purpose and a destiny. Are ready to get on the road to rediscovery and rediscover your gifts and talents and begin creating a life that is in alignment with who you were meant to become?
You may believe that it’s too late, that you are too old, damaged, hopeless and maybe just too tired to start anew. As long as you are drawing a breath, it is NEVER too late to become the person you were born to become. As a matter-of-fact, I believe that those who have hit rock bottom and experienced the dark night of the soul, have gone on to become some of the most influential and pivotal creators of hope and change.
Out of their personal pain and defeat, they arose to inspire and give hope to others. Oprah Winfrey grew up in poverty, was molested as a child and gave birth to a premature baby who later died. She was also fired from one of her first jobs and was told she was ‘unfit for TV’. If anyone fit the prototype for a life of low expectations it was Oprah. Instead, she realized that she was meant for bigger things. She went on to help untold numbers of people change their lives and find their inner light.
J.K. Rowling was on welfare before her Harry Potter books started flying off the shelves. Charlize Theron watched as her father murdered her mother. Maya Angelou was raped as a child. Mary J. Blige suffered sexual abuse as a child. Tyler Perry (wildly successful writer, actor, director and head of his own production company) was viciously beaten, emotionally abused and molested throughout his childhood. No one could have blamed any of these people for giving up and accepting a mediocre life. Despite, or perhaps because of their pain, they went on to achieve great success and create profound and positive change in other’s lives.
YOU are no different. Whatever your story is, whatever difficult road you’ve walked, you have greatness inside of you. The moment you discover this is the moment your whole world will open up before you.
If you grew up in a home that was loving and supportive, if you have had people in your life who have celebrated your uniqueness, showered you with acceptance and encouraged your creative spirit – you have truly been BLESSED. As a result, you likely already know how special and wonderful you are. You see the world as a safe place where you can be free to just BE.
On the other hand, if you grew up in a home that was filled with addiction, violence, chaos and fear – your view of the world around you is likely radically different. You may see the world as unpredictable, unsafe and a place where you have to be on guard and self-protective. Surviving and protecting yourself from further pain became a full time job for you and you didn’t have the luxury of dreaming about your future and creating a life of your dreams. Getting through each day in one piece was a full time effort. Past trauma and abuse may have left you confused about who you are, what you deserve and how you fit into the world around you.
That ends here. It’s time to reconnect with the Divine Power that flows through you. It’s time for a new way of living. One that supports your big dreams, your passions and purpose and the beautiful soul you really are.
